Union Trilogy Ring
The highly polished platinum trilogy ring is set with many princess cut diamonds and at its centre is an inverted princess cut diamond. The ring is made up of three interlocking segments where each segment can be worn independently or as one. Combining the art deco glamour of the angles and the sparkle of the diamonds the design is constantly able to adapt and change within each arrangement of the three segments. Each segment holds an individual beauty all of their own but together becomes transformed which at first seems impossible. The wearer of the ring is asked to be intrigued by the intricacy of the design and the hidden secrets and beauty held within.
Inspired by the word ‘Frontier’ Rachel wanted to show how the glamour of jewellery and the richness of the metal and diamonds can change and adapt in situations not thought at first possible. Rachel drew her inspiration from the word ‘frontier’ which means “a transition zone where explorers, pioneers and settlers were arriving. That is, as pioneers moved into the "frontier zone", they were changed by the encounter”.
On winning her award, Rachel said: “I am very proud to be able to showcase a new and exciting design, to show the industry and my clients that I can design the most incredible fine jewellery as well as the silver pieces I am more known for. This piece will lead on to a fine jewellery collection pushing the brand forward into the luxury market, and with the association with ‘Walpole Brand of Tomorrow’ we hope to open an exciting new market for the brand and continue many more fine jewellery collections”.
