HEROA
Description of design
Heroa is designed to be fastened to the straps of open back gowns via a double brooch pin housed within the framework of the shoulder elements, allowing the gown’s colour to be visible through the framework and creating another dimension within the piece. The double chain from each shoulder element flows down the back of the wearer, drawing the eye to the iconic element of the piece which houses a series of cascading chain strands finished with stone set bars. Heroa utilises laser welding allowing pre set stone sections, platinum and 18ct yellow gold to be fixed at varied levels within the piece, and has been designed to both respect and rely on the preciousness of platinum creating a strong yet lightweight frame throughout.
Inspirations behind the piece
Heroa is inspired by 1920’s and 1930’s glamorous backless style gowns, still popular today, that were complemented by neckpieces worn down the wearers back. Heroa has been designed to grace the red carpet and be admired not only for its dramatic impact, but also for the intricate detail and depth of the piece, creating a powerful presence of stature and purity. The use of platinum is accented by the 18ct yellow gold with ruby and white diamonds highlights that flow along the ornamental pattern that adorn the piece. Heroa symbolises the power, achievement and liberation of women of the 1920’s/1930’s, celebrating their triumphs and their influence on how the women of today build their own visions for the future.
